Saponified natural oils (palm kernel oil, shea), distilled water, plantain/cocoa pod ash (for color + gentle exfoliating properties).
African black soap gets its signature color from the roasting and charring of plant-based ingredients—primarily plantain skins, cocoa pods, palm tree leaves, and bark. These ingredients are sun-dried and burned to create ash, which is then mixed with water and oils (like shea butter or palm kernel oil) to form the soap.
